Hello
This is me! I believe art and interiors are a perfect combination. Both embrace colour, form, texture, creativity and design, and both allow for individuality and personal expression. The part of my job that I love the most is seeing clients becoming confident in their style choices and enjoying the positive impact is has when they have the courage to express it in their own home.
my story
I've been lucky enough to work in a variety of creative industries since I graduated in Fine Art from Liverpool University in the UK. Of course I've had a few dodgy jobs along the way - refolding tissues to name but one - but I've always managed to find long term employment doing something that fulfils my creative needs.
After specialising in printmaking for my degree at I went on to work for one of the UK's leading and most innovative silkscreen printers producing limited editions for artists and publishers. From there it was a winding, unplanned but fortuitous career path from fabric design through to interior design with some EFL teaching along the way to satisfy my wanderlust.
Since moving to Australia I've always continued to make my own artwork but family, children and running a business took up most of my time. That is until early Jan 2022 when I had a brain haemorrhage and was forced to take a step back from everything. There's nothing quite like a massive health scare to make you take a good look at your life, and through my continuing recovery one of the the things that has bought me the most joy and satisfaction (and most importantly doesn't make my head feel like it's going to explode) is doing my artwork.
Spending so much time at home this last year has compounded what I already knew - that your own space, your home and what you choose to surround yourself with has a HUGE impact on your wellbeing. That's why it's so important to make sure the place you carve out for yourself speaks to you and inspires you and makes you feel all the wonderful, happy, joyful, feelings that your own home should.
